Bronze Sheets: Critical Factors to Consider

Bronze is usually made of copper and tin, but other metals like aluminum can also be used as additives. You select bronze for its corrosion resistance, electrical conductivity and strength. Bronze metal is available in different shapes and alloys and can be cut in the amount that you need.

Bronze Sheets

They come in various thicknesses and sizes. The thickness can vary from a fraction of an inch to multiple inches, with many options that fall between this range. The length and width can also vary, like from 12" by 12" to 36" by 48". You can also specify a custom width and length and have them cut for you.

Applications

These bronze alloys are widely used due to their great strength and resilience in heavy industry such as marine and aviation. Typical bronze sheet applications would include bearings, gear parts, valve parts, pinions and oil and gas service parts.

Commercial Bronze

The 220 bronze alloy, also known as Commercial Bronze Is composed of 90% copper, 10% zinc. This alloy is corrosion-resistant and has good formability due to its zinc content.

Manganese Bronze

Manganese bronze is known for its strength and is therefore mainly used in heavy-duty applications.

Silicon Bronze

Silicon bronze has high strength, is extremely unaffected by corrosion and is nonmagnetic. It is considered to be as strong as steel, and is most suitable for utilization in general marine applications and also in pumps and boilers.
